Froggy Finger Gym

We currently have tadpoles in our classroom that the children are observing, although it doesn’t look like any of them are going to grow legs before the half term at this rate!

We decided to make a finger gym activity to fit in with our Froggy Theme, so here it is:

We filled a plastic tray with water and glass pebbles and with lily pads made from craft foam and laminated card and a few stones and plastic frogs and insects to decorate, we have a ‘pond’. The children have been using tweezers to pick up the glass pebbles and balance them on the floating lily pads.

We found that the children who struggle with tweezers used their fingers to pick up the pebbles, but it is all good practise for those little hand muscles!

We have left our tadpoles in the Investigation Area (far away from the Finger Gym) so there is no confusion about which tank they can put there hands in!
